I am doing my A level this June and I need to revise all the content by then. I have heard that you can get an a* by learning the markscheme. However, as I am doing the new spec, I know there aren't many past papers available for the new spec. Will this still work if I use old spec past papers and some new ones. I really want an A* and I heard a lot of people get the top grade using this method.
Thanks xxx

I did the same course and got an A*.
Here are some good websites I used:

I'd recommend textbook questions, asking your teacher for some practice questions, CGP revision guides

Hi
Thank you for replying x
When did you start revision? Is now a good time to start?
Were the revision notes from these website the only revision notes you used?

thank you

Hi I’m in the same position as you, sitting OCR A Chemistry this June. I’m staring some revision from this week and slowly building up the pace up to the exams. I’m working through all the content in the official ocr textbook and the practice questions in there, the cgp exam practice workbook, and all the new spec past papers.

I was told by my chem teacher (who marks for the exam board btw) that not all mark schemes from the old spec are reliable and correct for our new one, so although it’s good to do the old spec papers if you run out of new ones, don’t trust you’ll get the same marks with the same response this summer.

Hope this helps and good luck! : ))
Did any of you do ocr biology? And if so what grade did you get ??

I’m doing OCR A Chemistry this year too! Learning the mark scheme is always helpful as exam boards have a habit of being awkward and specific with certain definitions etc. It’s a good idea to look at the mark scheme for the 6 mark Qs as the way you set out your answer partly determines how many marks you get (it’s not just for the chemistry, it’s for the organisation too)! Of course you have to do more than just learning the MS but definitely go for it.. Good luck
Do you recommend revising the easy basic stuff in chemistry or going straight into revising the things which are difficult

Start with easy things and then build up. Definitely focus on the areas you struggle with. No point revising only the things you find easy
