GCP revision books for Biology/Chemistry

I am first year of 6th form and im going to stat my revision, im thinking of writing notes from every page of the GCP books first(sumarised) and then adding extra notes from kerboodle (as i heard gcp books go over stuff briefly), then obviously attempt past paper and do rehersal. Is this a good idea?
