Talking about mental health struggles in UCAS Statement?

Should you talk about your diagnosis, or not talk about it in a university application?
I personally wouldn't, but that's my opinion. Depends on the person and the diagnosis.
It's best if your referee talks about that sort of thing

Really, why?

Your PS should be positive and focus on why you want to do the course
If it's to do with it affecting your grades or something like that, if you write it yourself in your PS, it could come across as if you are trying to make excuses for yourself (which I'm not saying you are), and takes up valuable space in your PS which should be used to discuss why you want to do the course. However, if it's mentioned in your reference, it's coming from someone else, so it doesn't look like you're trying to make excuses for yourself, and doesn't waste room in your PS.
