The essential entry requirements to progress onto our Master of Physician Associate Studies course is to have a 2:2 (or above) in a Life Science, Biomedical Science, or Healthcare subject. We will also consider academic qualifications and work experience, you can email details of any work experience to our Admissions Team on [email protected].

So sorry for the delayed response! Our entry requirements for this course are: 2:2 (or above) in a Life Science, Biomedical Science, or Healthcare subject from a UK University or overseas equivalent

Applicants should offer either a strong science degree with substantial biology content or offer substantial healthcare experience. We will consider academic qualifications and work experience on a case-by-case basis. Please email the Admissions Team with details of your degree course or work experience if necessary on [email protected]

I was thinking to do a degree in biomed do I need to work as a biomed scientist first or just do a job related to biomed for few months or year and then apply for PA degree?

You don't necessarily need experience in a Science field however if you do this will be an advantage. Please see the entry requirements for the course below:

Essential
2:2 (or above) in a Life Science, Biomedical Science, or Healthcare subject from a UK University or overseas equivalent. Desirable
Recent experience of volunteering or employment in a healthcare environment.

The Physician Associate is an emerging role within the NHS. Physician Associates are collaborative healthcare professionals with a generalist medical education, who work alongside doctors providing medical care as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.

Physician Associates are trained to recognise, diagnose and manage common conditions under the supervision of a doctor. Physician Associates can work in a wide range of general and specialised areas of clinical practice within both primary and secondary care settings, and across integrated care pathways.

How many people apply for the PA course. I understand an average of 30 get on but how many applicants are there altogether.
Also, how many people from the Clinical Sciences progress onto the PA course on average.
