Hi! I'm quite worried, I left like 7 lines and went on the next page to do part b of to kill a mockingbird, will the examiner go to the next page to see it? Because on the front of the booklet it said to leave at least 2 lines, I'm worried the examiner won't go on to the next page and mark my part b!
I wouldn't worry, the examiner will look to see where the question number in the margin is to start marking. Everything's fine if you have put the question number in the margin.

I am doing relationships cluster, and have got a lot of notes comparing ghazal with to his coy mistress; tehr eare actually a lot of points! and it kills two possible birds with one stone
I am also trying to compare Born Yesterday/Hour, which is okay, but not extremeley compatible.

I was wondering if you guys thought it was really risky to just revise the predicted poems e.g Born Yesterday, THCM, Ghazal and 116?
It would be terrifying if none of them came up, but there is so little time!
I focused wayyy too much on the stories!
i know nothing on ghazal but yeah i think it could be very risky to just learn predicted, id say go through all poems, maybe watch some of mrbruffs videos and read your notes however just focus on the predicted ones

Can we exchange notes on the comparison between To His Coy Mistress and Ghazal? I'm nearing the end of a practise comparison essay at the moment...

My English teacher said the grade boundaries for both papers were ridiculously low!

I'm not doing place so I can't answer your first questions..
    There wasn't a unit 2 in january 2011 though
There haven't been enough papers to know if aqa repeat poems - I'm going to focus on the ones that haven't come up but make sure I know 2-3 points about the others just in case - remember there is a choice so I reckon 1 of the poems will not have come up before (at least)

I'm dreading my result for Eng Lit! I think I've done terrible.
    --

Like the AIC question (on foundation) was -
"How does Priestly present the different attitudes of Mr Birling and the Inspector".

My response for 1 paragraph was weak..

"One way Priestly presents the different attitudes is what they say. For example Arthur Birling says "a mans gotta get a living for himself". This suggests that Mr Birlings attitude is very much similar to that of a capitalist.

On the other hand, the Inspector says "we all gotta share". This suggests that the Inspector is a very socialist man who's opinions are close to Priestly's own view points."

Obviously I had little bit more to the paragraphs and I had more paragraphs, plus the quotes aren't exact. However, do you think I'll do alright on marks for this section?

From when it was sat in January i think possibly:
    A*- 38-36
    A- 32-28
    B-25-19
    C-18-16
Hopefully this helps I so need to ace poetry to make up for English lit paper 1

The grade boundaries are likely going to be higher than last year's due to it being a little more predictable as to what poems are to be featured. I just hope they're not too high
I'd recommend Mr Bruff's videos on YT to all those who haven't tried them already. They're really useful.

i am wondering for the English Lit 1 & 2, how come the grade boundaries are so low?
Do examiners mark responses at Controlled Assessment standard level or something?

Yeah my English teacher said the boundaries were already quite low and the unpredictable question they asked such as Slim in OMAM may have made students stumble!
To get good marks in Unit 2 you need to comment on Themes, Language Structure and Form, Effect on reader and actually compare!

I am not quite sure I think it is because most people might not do very well and then they base their grade boundaries on that. To be honest I am happy its low basically I think it will be my saving grace for ca idk

I hope they're like January's. I'm relying on the poetry exam to save me from the abdominable grade I've probably recieved for yesterday's exam

    Sure, that sounds good
Mine are mainly Mr.Bruffs points, but I have compared them and all.
I will type them up now.
