If you are going out with someone you have gotten to know and love then that is great and what it should be about, but if you're going out with someone for insecurity or social purposes then it can cause all kinds of complications, especially if you're at uni and college where everyone is at the same age group and you can't really form anything more than a friendship or get too close to someone you might genuinely like because you're in a relationship already.
