Ohhh for gods sake. Listen, if you hadnt of ****** it up at goodison, then you wouldnt of had to have a goal dissalowed against villarreal. Secondly, villarreal scored shortly afterwards, the dissalowed goal was irrelevant. And dont give me any of this ' it could of swung the match' as you shouldnt need a goal to swing a match.
Secondly, if you hadnt of allowed some third rate semi-professionals to ship 5 goals past you, you would have nothing to moan about.
And what makes it even more sweeter? You moaning about us taking your share of revenue from champions league coverage and then not qualifying.
And i suppose we cried our way into the champions league again, even though there was a rule stated last year by the FA regarding chelsea and arsenal which would of meant us getting your spot. But all thats irrelevant of course..
5 goals against who?! ^o)

Woah.

Holy crap.. If there was such thing as qualifying for the qualification rounds.. I'd recommend them that :yy:

Another thread about their win? Everyone would think that they hardly win games at this rate. :s-smilie:
Congratulations for them for the victory and they should have won by more. Luckily for Real they weren't playing Barcelona or Chelsea otherwise they would have been in more trouble...

We dont. Madrid would have hammered Chelsea .

Ratings...
Lehmann - 7 - solid as usual
Eboue - 8 - Quality performance, amazing energy, did well going forward also
Toure - 8 - Solid as a rock
Senderos - 7 - Solid once again but a couple of mares. All he needs to do is iron them out and he will be class and I hope it comes with playing matches.
Flamini - 7 - Did well considering he is not left footed and plays in midfield
Ljunberg - 8 - Much better from freddie, worked really hard, two years ago he would have put us one up in the 1st half
Gilberto - 7 - One of his better games this season
Reyes - 9 - Worked really hard, created lots of play down the left
Hleb - 7 - Shows signs of real brilliance but then just makes slack passes, needs to work on his final ball and someone needs to tell him that he can actually shoot sometimes but he looks quality
Henry - 8 - Didnt do a lot but he came through when we really needed him

And...

Fabregas - 10 - Sensational, immense performance

So true

Our players showed their real stuff tonight because they dont get hustled like they do in the Prem. Wenger seems to be building a side more suited to continental football than the Premiership.

Yep just shoving everybody up front leaving david weir at the back because we didn't have that goal didn't result in us getting tore apart by forlan.

I'm not moaning about the uefa cup u ****** There's more moaning off you and your fans than the bloody porno industry. I don't think it was just us moaning about revenue from CL coverage since it broke into the pockets of 3 other teams. Regarding the spot, in the Uefa rules it was set down who qualified and who didn't.

A couple of million to chelsea, arsenal and man united is nothing. Check past papers, there wasnt a squeak out of them about it.
Regarding the spot, uefa made a mistake.. as shown by recitifcing the rules now. They also showed double standards as they forced athletico madrid to go into the uefa cup the season madrid won it and came 5th

No Uefa didn't decide that, they leave decisions up to the respective football associations, last year the FA said 4th place team will go into the CL as they thought you would either win it and finish 4th or not win it at all. While in the case of the Spanish teams, the Spanish FA chose to send the winners of the CL rather than Real Zaragoza who finished 4th that season.
Typical, knowledgable, insightful Kopites.

Incidentally, I believe the only thing they will achieve more than us this season is about 5 places higher than us in the league.

This one is for the mighty Benfica.
Twas indeed a great win. Have just seen the Henry goal again and it looks better every time, even though Ronaldo's efforts to challenge him were pretty awful...

Fowler is God.

How absolutely embarrassing for the Anfield faithful.

wasnt bad at man city but we didnt really get the moneys worth...past his best a few years back

georgios samaras could be an interesting one

btw love the profile pic...lol http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/image.php?u=12576&dateline=1139606817&type=profile
dont make me send stuart pearce round to discuss some things with you
In the case of Portsmouth, my local Premiership side, money has definatly ruined the game in the eyes of many of their longer-serving supporters. Since they got promoted three years ago, much of their traditional fan base has been priced out of games and replaced by the stereotyped 'prawn-sandwich' brigade. Some go as far as to argue that the matchday experience was better in the old division one, and would not complain too much if they end up back there (a wish that looks like soon to be granted).

Also, just logically, Chelsea having buckets of cash to buy any player they want is obvioulsy not good for the competative side of the game, as the last couple of seasons have proved.

Samaras looks good already I think, could be a really really good player for Citeh.

The pic > Haha, it's so smug, innit? Love it!
Funny.
Are Man City not doing worse in the league now than they were last season? :hmmm:
I didn't watch the match but I would like to know whether Arsenal deserved the win or they won simply because Real was underperforming?
