AS Referendum Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please can some one help.

I need to write an essay about the avantages of disadvantages of direct democracy (referendums).

I've chosen the disadvantages and i have got loads of points. I just need some help about this point.

"Referendums are likely to give additional power to pressure groups and other organisations that would seek to influence the outcome".

What else could i add to this point. Like what sort of examples.

Lack of turnout by the majority electorate, resulting in decisions made against the national interest? Power wil be decentralised. If every decision was contested by the electorate what would be the point in party politics?

Would a direct democracy lead to a revolution?!

By the way I don't take A level politics, so this could be wrong.
