Nursing Diploma

i am posting on behalf of a friend who is interested in applying to do a nursing diploma however she isn't doing a levels (she does an NVQ in hairdressing) how woukd it be possible for her to be able to get on to a nursing course?
we have looked at access courses but would this be necessary, or can you get on to courses with gcse's??

few years ago it would have been easy, however now the majority of diploma courses are closed or closing in the next couple of years, might make things a bit more difficult in terms of access and funding. I know nothing else though.
For the diploma course GCSE is the minimum requirement, so your friend would be fine to apply with just those. However, as Davey Jones has pointed out the Diploma route is being phased out so it would all depend on which uniersity they wanted to apply to and the start date for the course. Best option would be to research the universities for their options.
