    picking the intellectual elite is different because it is meritocratic. elitism usually refers to class boundaries.

    cambridge do stress this point in many prospecti- they want the ACADEMIC elite of the nation to attend their university. nowhere do they imply that elitism should be equated with class, so people who assume otherwise need to re-read some things. basing your opinions on a place before getting the full information is just downright arrogant
