I read all of them and it was like I took the journey with them  Will add it too.
and then there were none by agatha christie
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
Lord of the Flies by William Golding

I'm sure many people will disagree with me here but I think Life of Pi by Yann Martel. I love it; it's so beautifully written and engrossing. The fact it's heavy in symbolism makes it even more enjoyable.
Great book and great suggestions.

Franny and Zooey- J D Salinger
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button- F Scott Fitzgerald
We Need To Talk About Kevin- Lionel Shriver
A Tree Grows In Brooklyn- Betty Smith
Of Mice And Men- John Steinbeck
Pale Blue Dot- Carl Sagan
Cat's Cradle- Kurt Vonnegut
The Diary Of A Young Girl- Anne Frank
Ham ON Rye- Charles Bukowski

Sorry if any of these have been mentioned before!

I remember reading Tom Sawyer when I was young. It's one of those books that automatically remind you of when you were young  I'll add your suggestions as well.
I watched the movie (Life of Pi ) and I like the story, would love to read the book too.

Just to let you know that and then there were none is a book by agatha christie so that was her suggestion but all books by agatha christie are great.
Thank you! That's my summer reading sorted!
Batman.
Just any Batman book and you're good.
Wow, loads of great books there. I've read about 1/5 of them so copying this list for reference.

If you've read Oliver Twist, you *have* to read Jack Dawkins by Charlton Daines. It's a sequel about the Artful Dodger as an adult.

Good choice.

I just noticed that A Clockwork Orange isn't on the OP list. I think it should be!

I never read it but I've heard all about Ulysses.

I enjoyed Ulysses but it might be dry for a lot of people.
Me before you - Jojo moyes. Bit of a romantic with some important ethical dilemmas

1984, Catcher in the Rye. Both essential reading really. Not necessarily to enjoy them, but the lessons they teach
Superstoe, for the same reason. Anyone allowed to vote should read that.
