What will happen if North Korea starts attacking America?

They'll get curb stomped and then South Korea and China will probably jointly manage it or something. North Korea isn't really going to launch a nuke and if they did then....

Kimmy Jong Un: "oh yeah we got them! Hahahaha we are so awesome, dad u proud?"

Kimmys general guy: "Errr.....sky is dark with American bombers heading towards us..."

Kimmy Jong Un: "ooooh noooo! Hey China.... you got ma back right?"

China: "lol..........no, gf Kimmy."

Though really I suppose he'd be able to destroy America with his super powers, assuming these are factual videos?

It actually has China. Just one of the biggest economies in the world.

The only reason China "protects" Nk is to keep it as a buffer state to the west. China would never go and join Nk in a war against the USA. It is suicide for the Chinese economy. It'll be like a shop keeper punching his best customer, it simply would not happen. If anything, China would invade Nk just to maintain the stable "buffer" state, before the americans got there first.

The reason I ask this, is because, a nuke fired at NK would affect South Korea as well, no? So, surely the US won't fire a nuke at NK?

What do you think? Will a nuclear strike on NK affect South Korea and neighbouring towns in China, thereby effectively ruling out nuclear retaliation by the United States, but not an invasion or use of conventional missiles?
they might launch a small nuclear bomb that would just be big enough to take out the capital and any key military bases but like I said small enough for the radiation not to effect the South.
A nuclear strike on NK would be pretty bad, to put it lightly, for the whole Asia Pacific. It is doubtless that the US would respond with a massive kinetic retaliation; probably conventional, possibly nuclear.

The chief issue is that nuke or no nuke, NK can flatten Seoul within a couple of hours, so the question is - can the US annihilate the NK mechanized capability within about 30 mins? Quite possibly.
