As someone that just stuck to the lectures (death certification included), tbh I think all of the questions were fair game.
Frankly the exam hysteria at Imperial has been ridiculous this year: 'USMLE book' this, 'obscure EMQ book' that. Last week I mentioned to a friend that I hadn't used any, and they looked at me like I had 3 heads. Why would they ask us anything that wasn't in the lectures?*
I think uni has to shoulder some of the blame, mind, stoking the flames with that semi-official path course.
*Of course, that argument falls down next week, where there were no lectures and what comes up is anyone's guess
