Sven got us to the last 8 of three cups, I honestly think he was one of the best england managers and underrated.

I think england do badly because all the foriegn players in england learn about english style tactics diet mentality etc and can anticipate how england will play , whilst english players dont have a clue about opponents

We need Sven back.

Because narrow defeats to both of them shows they're miles ahead of us right

Everytime england scored both italy and uruguay scored another pretty easily...also both were leading comfortably for the vast majority of the games.

Can't you see your own delusion? It was mediocre italian and uruguyan performences but they still won fairly easily over the 90 mins....

Englands threat was minimal...looks like it will be a last place finish....yet you all still wont learn.

Thats why you keep getting worse. Deluded...and every country on earth knows it...except your foolish selves... you believe your own non sense.

You clearly weren't watching those games or you're the worst analyst in the world.

England were clearly the better team in both games, Uruguay didn't look threatening at all for the whole game, aside for the first 5 minutes of the second half, the difference was Suarez. Italy had a couple of little spells where they were going forward well and looked like they could make something happen but never really looked a huge threat.

England have been good at getting into attacking positions but haven't really looked confident or able to create chances and the chances we are creating seem to fall to Rooney who's been wasteful.

Funny thing is you're probably Scottish or Welsh who aren't even close to being as good as England and this is one of the worst England squads for years

I think people are forgetting that we could still qualify although its dangerous relying on other results. The clowns on here saying we were outclassed:facepalm:. Narrowly lost both games and created some good chances in both. Also Godin should have been sent off . It was through our own mistake tonight that we lost but take nothing away from Suarez .

Lol what? Did you even watch the game?

See this is the type of delusion people talk about. This fool actually believes England outplayed Italy

Hahaha did YOU watch them?

England 3-2 Scotland...at wembley....conceding two against Scotland must be pretty embarassing for you considering how bad you think we are....can't wait until the friendly in glasgow this november.

We've always been rubbish, never had a team that looked like it could ever win the cup, or a cup.

No. England are a really amazing team. They are one of the very best teams of all time, across all eras of football. They have some truly world class talents like sturridge, glen johnson, sterling and wellbeck, all of whom are ethnically native English/British, obviously, they have every right to play for England an to represent their country, their ethnicity is native Englishmen and they are fully, purely British.

England play an amazing style of football. They played amazingly well against Italy and Uruguay. Rooney is a brilliant player. Italy will beat Uruguay and Costa Rica, and England will easily beat Costa Rica 6-0 to secure qualification to the next stage. England will win the world cup because they are a really amazing team. I mean, surely they must be amazing, because of the astoundingly huge amount of hype, big talk and propaganda that has surrounded English football for so many decades. So I have to come to this conclusion (and this is the only valid conclusion) - England are obviously an amazing team, best team in the world, they will win the world cup. Otherwise, what's all the hype about?

Must be pretty embarrassing for you that you can't spell embarrassing.

No not really. Even if Scotland had won 5-0 it really wouldn't have meant anything to me, England are still far superior. Scotland haven't got one player who'd make the England 11 and they haven't played in a major competition for nearly 20 years

I havent dismissed costa rica, they'll get third place. They're stronger than England but a class below the other two.

Regular quarterfinalists, but the draw every other quarterfinalist dreams of. We view quarter finals as a success, job done when we reach it. Its fair to say they are a weak side when they go home without a point and never had any hope of coming close to winning it.

You have got to be joking, Costa Rica are not better than England. England aren't as good as the media hype suggests but they are above costa Rica.

Still consistently top 8 in the world is it not? England are far from bad. They aren't going to win a tournament any time soon, but they are still a fairly good side. I don't get why fans can't just sit on a middle ground, why they have to see the side as either woeful or world beaters.

One of the worst things I've ever read. There's been no hype about us winning it. There's been the hype that every country has when their team is playing in the World Cup.

It's the same mentality that always wants a scapegoat. If we didn't win it's not because one team was beaten by another, it's because one person let 'us' down. It's all Rooney's fault because he didn't score more, it's all Green's fault because he didn't keep out the US' shot, it's all Seaman's fault because he missed Ronaldinho's shot/cross, it's all Beckham's fault because he got sent off... etc etc.

And it happens in every sport. If, when playing cricket, our batsmen all get out cheaply it's always a batting collapse. It's never a "great display by the opponents". If we can't bowl them out it's our fault for poor fielding, poor bowling and poor captaincy. It's never the opponent's well played batsmen...

Horrible victim mentality. Where there's a blame...
to be fair to MidnightDream, Ghana did do better than England in the previous WC and only Suarez's hand stopped them from advancing any further
Well with England vs Uruguay yesterday, as soon as England got the ball they lost it. The passing was poor, often being passed straight into a Uruguay player. Generally England look ****. But I am not a footballer so I have no idea.

Eat your words when England get send home without a point. What will you say then? Cmon guys we are bad, and other teams are better than us. We all want England to do well, but the majority just cant accept that we're bad and come with the "we were unfortunate, we'll do better next time" mentality, when we really would do worse if that was even possible.

Euro 2008, didnt even qualify wtf. That doesnt happen to a above average team when we're fortunate enough to have easy qualification groups.

A good team doesnt depend on other teams to be bad to do well, a good team doesnt care about who's in their group, focuses on themselves and gets through it regardless. England are not a good team.

England aren't an above average team? Lol that's ridiculous
Only when England do not qualify for a WC or Euro's.
This just in: new anthem announced for English football:

Can you tell from the look in our eyes?
We're going nowhere.
We live our life like we're ready to die,
We're going nowhere.

You can run but you'll never escape,
Over and over again.
Will we ever see the end?
We're going no where.

Did you see how good the team was? 9 players that would be called 'world class': Cole, Terry, Ferdinand, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham, Owen, Rooney. Possibly even Neville. Quarter finals was the minimum he should have reached with that team.
