Aww thanks everyone for your support. Hey Sally when is the open evening and is it just for LD nursing students? Don't finish my Access Course until June so would be looking to start next April 2016. Hoping their will be places available when clearance opens. Extra has opened but I'm still waiting to hear off two other uni's so can't apply for LD on that at the mo. Do you guys know when Extra is open until?

Will deffo give it a read now and will be in touch if I have any questions. Yes I would like to specialise in children once qualified but just worried they wouldn't take me at the minute because I have only got experience with children who suffer from LD. Worried that working with adults with server LD's may be a bit intense also, so want to experience it first before I make a decision.

Really appreciate all your kind words and help xx

Are its for this April hun I went through clearing last year ! Good luck I think the other girl's will agree were here if you need to ask any questions x

New post up this week.

This week in placement I was able to observe surgeries in theatres.
Really good fun! Not for the fainthearted though!

Always learning on placement, now into my third week. It's going sooooo quick :frown:

Will check out your new post. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. It's a real eye opener and much appreciated :-)
Not a problem!
I remember this time last year and jumping every time the post arrived!
It was difficult finding information on learning disability nursing. So I'm glad the blog is helping
It's a waiting game but so worth it.

Just makes me even more excited to get started! September can't come quick enough. Thanks again for posting your experience x
Make the most of your free time!
It goes so quick and you learn a lot but do make sure you do a lot of your own reading and research.
It's a brilliant course and we have had various people come in and lecture us, with and without learning disabilities.
I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
If anything, doing placements in various places reaffirms where you want to work if you have an idea and what you like about your course.
If you have any questions, feel free

Hi hun well done on your interview !
I was asked the role of an LD nurse, what I thought my course was, the 6 c's of nursing and core values, some on compssion and care and dignity.
Then I had a scenario at the end
(edited 9 years ago)
Im really scared what was the scenario like? I crumble under pressure but want it so much x
