How can you be straight but be a gay porn star?

I was talking to my gay friend earlier and we got talking about porn for some reason or another. He informed me that a lot of gay porn is performed by straight men.

What I can't get my head around is how a straight person can claim himself to be straight despite the fact he has sex with males.
How would you get a hard-on first of all?

I also have a question for the ladies, if you met a guy and he told you he was straight but did gay porn for a living, what would you think?

I just can't get my head around the idea of someone being straight but having gay sex for a living.

It is possible to get an erection without being turned on (Viagra). I think it's perfectly possible and reasonable for a straight man to be able to do gay porn, many female porn starts who do lesbian sex scenes are probably 100% straight and I'm sure you probably already acknowledge that and have accepted that so I don't see why you'd view it any differently for the male porn actors, apart from the erection point but that can be dealt with with drugs and other methods.

As for how I'd react, I wouldn't like it not because it's gay porn but because it's porn I guess it's just something I wouldn't be comfortable with at all no matter who they were doing porn with.
