What did you do when you got there?

How did you get the internet so quickly?

You do realise you let yourself in for the questions, don't you? :p:

I've moved in  got to go to my hall meeting in a minute and then off to the Badger. Lovely people, it's too hot though! Oh, and I'm on an all girls floor which I didn't expect, but there are boys in the block (not many, but still). Just to warn you. There are all boy floors too. It's awesome so far though! See you all soon x

There are all boy floors too.

It seems the all boy floors are the ground floors, I don't know why though. And the all girl floors seem to be more towards the top with mixed in the middle

I think that maybe boys are on the ground floor, so that girls don't have men climbing through the balconies. But tis only a guess

Im on an all girls floor too, at the top of the building. Have just got back from the Badger. Closes at 11! AH!

I could have seen u Supercat! Strange!

I just came around 11, went into room, went and registered (third years will help you - bring a passport photo and 40pounds) and then unpacked. Had buffet lunch (very nice!), parent left. Spent day chatting. Got unicard. Had tea (also nice) and then went to The Badger. Now am back as it closed! Should really go and socialise more - but im tired!

I have so many names in my head! AH! Its amazing though!

Edit: Though I couldn't have met u supercat, as i've only met 2 english ppl and they were both boys

They had that set up at quite a few Uni's I visited.

I think it's a privacy thing.

EDIT: Niyati it sounds like you're having fun!!

I should hit Lopes at about 3pm tomorrow (I'll be leaving London by car at midday)- just finished packing and looking forward to the big day!

At the risk of sounding like a sexist bitch, I think the reason the all-male floors are on the ground floor is because men have more chance of being able to put up a decent fight against an intruder.

Having said that, I'm in a ground-floor room for the second year running now and I have no funky fighting skills whatsoever  :p:

ha i'd give anything to be on the ground floor right now. my new bedroom is on the 2nd floor and 30 steps up - really quite annoying when you forget something from the kitchen, or are like drunk... and have trouble with stairs ha ha!

good luck everyone anyway with moving in, you're gonna hve a great time! x

I'm here too
Reply 15
Ha yeah I'm on the top floor, those stairs are fun.
Reply 16

Have just found out we only get channels 1-4 in here unless we're willing to pay £6 a month each for Sky. In my first year you got Sky for FREE dammit, FREEEEE!!!!!! #grumble# ;rant;

Well I've arrived too and am staying in Murray. I was warned that it was supposedly based upon a Swedish prison design and I have to say, I was not disappointed. There are very few showers in our area of the block and half of those have doors where it is possible to see their occupants

Having said that, we do have the use of the facilities in the newly refurbished Birks and the people I've met so far have been truly lovely, especially with the common conversation topic of just how basic Murray really is!

heh...this is why I opted for the ground floor room last year and was pleased to get it this year! In my first year I had 48 stairs to climb to get to my room!!!!
