AirAsia flight missing??!???

AirAsia has just confirmed it has lost contact with flight number QZ8501 (162 people on board)

Is it time to short the companies shares?

Any theories as to what might have happened?

It's been missing for five hours, so it's certainly on the ground somewhere.

You asked for theories so I gave you one as a possibility.
Bad day for the QPR chairman
Bad year for Malaysia in terms of air travel

Starting to look weather related (as it usually is in this area)

Essentially, the red is weather aircraft would change course to fly around (either at the pre-flight stage, changing the route to avoid it if it's predictable, or even in-flight if it's apparent the route is going to take them through it) and the box indicates the last known area of the aircraft.

Imagine what the families are going through. Hope everyone is safe (as naive as that sounds)
Man it's not a good year for malaysias airlines.

The plane must be on the ground now as it's fuel reserves will have run out by now.

Whilst it wasn't MAS it has not been a good year for their aviation industry.
Hope everyone on the flight is fine.

It's the Malaysian Airline's fault for not inspecting the aeroplane spare parts before taking it to fly on the day.
