Try racing in what sense? To actually race you pretty much need to it as a career and get a liscense.
You could contact local trainers though and offer to ride out for them? Can't really suggest anything else it's pretty hard to get into competetive disceplines without your own horse

At Liverpool, quite a few people ride out part time for mark johnston. you need to be small though.
