Text Messages deleted D:

Today, I was trying a different SIM card in my phone, and then replaced my normal SIM card after I took that one out.
My text messages had all been deleted, and the dialled and received call logs have gone too. Is there any way of getting them back, or have they been deleted from the SIM or something?

On most modern phones, text messages/contacts/photos etc. are stored in the phone memory, not on the SIM card. Some phones have a security feature whereby if you put another SIM card into a phone it will automatically wipe all the data associated with the previous SIM. The idea being that if your phone was stolen and another SIM card put in, the person couldn't access your data.

I imagine the data wasn't completely wiped and would be recoverable but it would require specialist software and wouldn't be a quick or easy process. So you're unlikely to get the messages back I'm afraid.
