Been obsessed with both of these songs in the last couple of days :tongue:

I do understand some of it though (partly because some of it is in English, partly because I understand quite a bit of German :tongue:

I actually don't understand a word of French but I had looked up the English translation a while back. I agree that the subject matter is very depressing but I am pretty oblivious to this when listening to the song (i.e. I can just forget what the song is about an just enjoy it lol).

In a way think this is a benefit to listening to pop songs in another language. Often I can't enjoy english songs, regardless of how good the beat and tune is due to the sh*tty lyrics (see AronChupa's "I'm an Albatroz" ). However when listening to a foreign song you are free to enjoy the song completely oblivious to the depressing, nonsensical or downright f*cking awful lyrics.
