Positives of implementing Utilitarianism:

1. Because it is a consequentialist theory it is flexible.

2. It's intuitive.

3. Mill was concerned that ethics had become to scholarly he wanted a theory that the masses could use, it's easy to grasp and easy to put into practice.

4. It doesn't have the downfalls of deontological theories:
(i) If there truly is an objective moral law, how are we suppose to know it?
(ii) doesn't an objective moral law presume the existence of God, are all atheists immoral?

5. In comparison to deontological theories you feel you are doing good. Rather than helping for the sake of helping, you're helping for the sake of making someone happy.

6. Utilitarianism applies itself better to animal ethics, because animals can feel pain.

Hope that helped.
