Can you go into doing Medicine with a Biomedical Science Extended Degree

Hi there,
Basically I am currently at College studying my A Levels, which are Photography, Fine Art and AS Turkish. I wanted to do A Level Biology, Chemistry and Maths at my Sixth Form College, but because of the GCSE grades that I got this year, I couldn't do those courses.
So, I researched on the internet and found out some universities like London Met provided a Biomedical Science Extended Degree course which, are aimed to students that don't have a science background. Therefore, I wanted to know if i choose to do that course in 2018, Can I go into Medicine after I finished this course? Can you please help me?

That sounds like a science foundation year. So yeah, if you complete that, do the actual biomedical sciences degree and get predicted/achieve a 2:1 or a 1st you would be able to apply for graduate entry medicine.

Dear nergiz.canitez,

We are so happy that you are looking to one of our courses. At London Met, we try to help everyone as much as possible with the application process.

Upon completing the Biomedical Science BSC, 85% of our graduates have gone on to further study or work, with many of those finding careers in hospitals and private medical laboratories to help general practitioners, medical research, education and specialised laboratory work grow.

We know that the application can be hard and confusing when it comes to making sure you are doing the right course, so if you would like to find out more, please visit the course page here: http://www.londonmet.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/biomedical-scienceextended-degree---bsc-hons/ where you can find the contact information for the staff members who run the course. They will be able to help you with any questions that you may have.

I hope this has helped you and please do ask us any more questions you may have and we will be sure to help.

Best,
Joey
