Why is nobody talking about South Korea?

What's actually going on in SK at the moment? I skim-read a news story a whole back about the President having a "close friend" who apparently many thought was having far too much of a say in politics despite not being a political figure at all, but other than that I've heard next to nowt. Though that's probably because finding a decent reliable source can be a pain in the arse. That, and I don't really read much news.
South Korea is North Korea's flamboyant gay brother.
