Drama Audition

Hello,

I'm currently studying BTEC Drama and one unit includes monologues. I have a Shakespeare monologue -Rosalind as Ganymede in As You Like It. Are there any good dramatic contemporary female monologues that are quite good but not too over done/ any monologues you have done that an audition panel have really liked? I will read the full play.

Also, preferably could it be set in London/Essex, not the best with accents.
Thank you !

Hi Sophie,

Try having a look at this website, it has a whole database of monologues; http://stageagent.com/monologues You could also try crafting your own interpretation of a Steven Berkoff performance to show creativity and diversity in your acting skills. Alternatively, there is also this site- http://www.monologueblogger.com/15-powerful-female-dramatic-monologues/ which has the top 15 powerful female monologues. Try practicing a few and see which one you can do the most with, pull in different acting techniques, see how people have performed it in the past (YouTube) and do it in a different style- its always best to stand out!

I hope this helps.

Best Wishes,
Chloe
