Foundation courses

Hi I am thinking of doing foundations instead of A levels. Has anyone here done it before and what are your comments on them?

I'm not sure if foundation entry is restricted to this, but I believe their purpose is for people who didn't reach entry requirements for an undergraduate course using their A-levels, or those who wish to take a different route to what they chose at A-level.

Also, you may find you can't take a foundation course until you are a couple of years older, as I believe the youngest entry is age 17 which reflects the age at which Scottish Highers are achieved.

Foundation courses are also a lot more specific, so you will have more trouble changing direction than if you were to choose a range of A-levels. There are also a lot less on offer. Top universities will only accept A-levels as well.
