Quick question on biology a-level graphs

I have to draw a graph on an experiment we did , this requires me extending the y-axis so it goes into negatives . My question is does both sides of the axis have to go up to the same number or can one side go up to a certain number and the other side going up to a different number , thanks

They can go up different numbers on different sides of the axis. If you had a range of -3–>2000, you wouldn’t extend the negative to -2000 otherwise you’d lose marks for leaving so much empty space.

I mean, this is sorta GCSE knowledge from the ISA units...

the reason i asked is because my substitute teacher told the class differently which confused us so i was just checking , but thanks

Don’t listen to your teacher in this case. I hope this is the only thing that she lapsed on.
