Buying clothes from USA - import tax for UK?

Okay so I've found a shirt that I adore but the thing is, it's made in the USA and sold from there too, but I am from the UK.

The shirt is $39.99 (£30.80) and it says that 'shipping and handling' is $8.99 (£6.91)

Total being = $48.98 (£37.64)

Does this include any import taxes or duties that I have to pay? If not, would anyone be able to help me calculate how much it would be please to import the goods to the UK ☺️
Calculating UK Duty and VAT
Here is a simple example to show you how to work out the costs of both UK duty and VAT:
Goods purchased from outside of EU (converted from USD to UK£) £5000.00
UK Duty at 3.5% £ 175.00
Cost of shipping to UK £ 500.00
SUB TOTAL £5675.00
VAT @ 20% on sub-total £1135.00
TOTAL COST INC. UK DUTY & VAT £6810.00

So in this example, the total of UK duty and VAT (tax) payable to import these goods to the UK is £175 + £1135 which is £1310, along with the shipping cost of £500.

Customs will be a few quid, but the admin fee is always a flat £8 for imports. So expect to pay an additional £10-15 overall to Her Majesty's coffers.
