Salary progression for medical physicist?

title explains it really. what is the salary progression like for medical physicists in the NHS? how long does it take to reach a high band, if band 9 is ever even reached? thanks
if you want a lot of money NHS is not the route i am afraid
a doctor in the USA can be earning 200k+ before a doctor here in the UK is working like a dog for £50k before tax

not doctor, but medical physicist - doing radiotherapy etc. where you need a physics degree rather than a medical degree

There is some info on the following website regarding experience required to reach band 9:

However, there would also be opportunities with the manufacturers of the equipment that are deployed in hospitals, which I imagine could pay more than the NHS.
