Why are girls doing better than boys in education

Today at college I was taken out with a couple other students to talk with some visitors who wanted to hear our opinion on a few studied statistics. Thought it'd be interesting to bring it here.

It's a national problem, girls are excelling academically more than boys despite similar environments. Same school, same teachers, same homework- different exam results.

What do you think, why is it that girls do better than boys?
In 1923, an official British report on secondary schools remarked: “It is well known that most boys, especially at the period of adolescence, have a habit of ‘healthy idleness.’” Meanwhile, the report warned, girls tended to be “over-conscientious”, putting their reproductive organs at risk.

girls have better work ethic at school level

it really is that simples
sociology covers this, and theres many reasons. the way girls are brought up as children they're read to using those childrens books which gives them a head start in primary school which boys apparently don't get. In spare time what do boys do, play games be active whereas girls play games such as teachers, doctor doctor etc. Most teachers you see are female, they act as role models which motivate girls to work hard and do better. Equal pay, sex discrimination acts have also motivated girls to go on and pursue careers of their choice which is why they work harder in education to get their qualifications, because they know they'll get treated equally. It's also to do with biology, girls are naturally like that.
