History

Hey everyone! Having your exams in May, how would you organise your study for History? Thank you in advance!

Depends on which topics you're studying and whether you're doing SL or HL. I do HL, Move to Global War for Paper 1, Authoritarian States and Cold War for Paper 2, and Imperial Russia, Interwar Period and the Soviet State for Paper 3. Best method is to alter your strategies for each paper since they're all slightly different. Paper 1 is source-based, so you need a general over-view for that one - don't spend too much time studying, but do make plenty of mind maps. Paper 2 is thematically approached: again, mind maps, dates and policies but in-depth memorisation is not too key. Try to lay out a couple of facts to remember for each bullet-point under your topic. For Paper 3, just swallow your topics whole. You need in-depth notes, extensive historiography and a lot of practise at critical analysis. Spend most time revising for this. If you're HL, it counts for 35% of your mark. Good luck.
