BTEC computing prep

I’m going to study a BTEC Conputing at college in September and I haven’t studied computing before and so know nothing about it so i was wondering how I should prepare for the course
The BTEC syllabus will have been written to teach everything from basic principles upwards and I'd guess you probably won't be the only one on the course who hasn't ever studied computing before, so it's not necessary to have any kind of background with it.

If you'd like to get a bit of a headstart then you could spend a few months over the summer getting your head into programming, since that will be quite a big part of the course and is usually something people find difficult at first (but the only secret to being good at programming is just practice). Try some of the free programming lessons on Codecademy for the Python Programming language - this is a really good place to start: https://www.codecademy.com/courses/learn-python

A couple of other good Python links too if you get to the end of Codecademy:

Your college may or may not use Python to teach programming, but don't worry too much about that - programming itself is all about learning new ways to think about problem solving -- the language is just a tool, although Python is a good one to learn as a complete newcomer.
