Universitys for philosophy

Does anyone know the best university's to study pure philosophy at in the u.k that aren't Oxford or Cambridge?
Based on a cursory scan of the Philosophical Gourmet report, LSE/KCL/St Andrews, maybe UCL.

Of course that ranking is made by philosophers, for philosophers, in terms of research work and so is probably more relevant to prospective PhD students than undergrad students. I doubt you'd go far wrong with any of the universities in their listing, including the "outside top 15" ones at the bottom, however.

Different departments will have different interests and hence optional modules available though, so if you're interested in a particular area see what the department's offerings are in that area. For example, UCL doesn't seem to have much philosophy of physics, whereas KCL and LSE do. KCL offers some options in Indian and Chinese philosophy, which are uncommon elsewhere generally.

True that the options for Indian and Chinese are not great, but the Indian phil course at King's is frustratingly narrow. Need to be careful for that, like with anything!
