Neuroscience or Biochemistry?

I'm looking to go into medicine, but I'd like to apply to a fifth course as a back-up. The two back-ups I'm looking at are neuroscience and biochemistry.
Can either of these lead into a medical degree/medical career? If so, which would be better to apply for?
