One of these annoying Which Uni questions? Please help!

I'm going to be studying a Masters in Human Resource Management (HRM) next year. I have narrowed it down to 3 options:

Strathclyde
St Andrews
Edinburgh

My most important factors is good academics and employability. Strathclyde has a strong business school, but not well-known outside Scotland I'm told. Edinburgh has a fantastic reputation, but doesn't rank that high for business subjects. St Andrews is ranked 1st for Business Studies, however I'm advised it isn't as good for postgraduate studies.

Edinburgh is also £4000 more than the others. My number one goal is good employability upon graduation.

Thank you for reading my ramblings and any advice/guidance is much appreciated.

as someone doing HR, you should know that in this situation the biggest impact on your employability will be your work experience to date....

You are absolutely right. I have worked in HR for the last 5 years and I feel I'm strong in this area. I guess I'm over-thinking this but I see it as a big decision and don't want to make the wrong one.

yes, don't nitpick over this 'metric' when there are far more significant factors to consider in this particular case

What do you hope to gain from this masters? Which aspects of employability do you hope to improve? Will you be studying part time or full time?

Will be studying full-time. I already have a Business Undergrad, but it was very broad. I have worked in people management now for 5 years. I'm hoping to get a specialised education which will help my apply for more HR specific roles after graduation but also enable me to further my career through time once I have more HR experience. @A Rolling Stone already hit the nail on the head when he said experience is more important, however I'm hoping that the masters will enable me to stand out from the crowd a little when applying for jobs. That's why I'm focusing so much on choosing the right programme.

Thanks

Ah, sounds like a worthwhile move. Have you checked CIPD exemptions? Is there a way to find out if any of the university have strong careers offices for specialist postgrads?

That's a good idea. I will have a look. All I know just now is that all the courses are CIPD accredited but I will have a look. Cheers.
