Queen's University Belfast

Is the English and Creative Writing in Queen's university in Belfast a good option?

Is it a university specialized in that area and provider of great opportunities in the arts?

I am a graduate of this course, creative writing at QUB is definitely challenging, I came there with top A-level grades but A-level English won't completely prepare you for a creative dissertation in prose/script-writing/poetry. I would say poetry is the activity that the university is best known for across the globe. There is a literary journal called The Open Ear which publishes work by students and alumni and the school of English hosts Poetry and Pints evenings. The Crescent Arts Centre is beside the campus and the Metropolitan Centre for Arts is near the city centre. The Lifeboat also hold poetry readings, usually in the Sunflower bar. The tutors are successful writers, the person who supervised my dissertation was published by Faber recently.
