Banking from Chemistry

I know that the financial sector, specifically investment banking is heavily reliant on the University you went to instead of the degree.

However my question is, I am applying to do Chemistry at Liverpool with the thoughts to go into IB or finance after.
While Liverpool is ranked highly for Chemistry, it is not for Economics etc.

Do employers take into account which unis are good at which Subjects or do they just target specific unis for IB despite how good they are at specific Subjects.

Eg. Bristol is not highly ranked for Chemistry, but would it be more beneficial for me to go there due to the rep within Economics/Finance and the links they may have over Liverpool.
Subject doesn’t matter, subject ranking doesn’t matter. Only overall uni ranking does. Bristol is a solid semi target, Liverpool is a non target. Go to Bristol or other semi-targets.

Yeah, Bristol is more or less equal to Notts.
