They put the NHS in the most vulnerable position because they failed to put effective measures in place early enough then left the burden on NHS staff and are now making them pay again for parking.


They should walk to work like the rest of us. Its good for you.
At least they will have half price lunches in August.

Most people, even in jobs that are awkward hours and so on, don't get parking provided by their employer except at the most senior levels. Given that the left have been quite so vocal about their dislike of car usage, I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest threat to hospital parking came from that side of the ideological divide.

Let's not pretend this is anything other than a nice thing to have - obviously increasing the pressure on providing parking for patients and visitors. I'd quite like NHS staff to continue to have that benefit - but ultimately, it's a question of balancing priorities.
