Of course, the British have a big self-entitlement attitude and always want more, more and more without wanting to pay for it. They want a free health service and this is what you get, but they complain, complain and complain about the mediocrity. You would think by now they would of worked out by now why it is ****, it is time to look at the German model.

What the hell have I been paying my NI for 15 years for if I can't get a simple operation done in due course.

Tf you smoking? If I pay my national insurance, I should get my operation in a timely manner. It literally what NI is for. Like I get if it get cancelled once or maybe twice but four times is a joke.

I've had more cancelled operations than I've had hot dinners in the last year.

Nobody pays enough money for an adequate NHS, our tax payments are not enough for the archaic model to function properly. The NHS is crap and always will be unless people pay more for it, I like many others get dumb long wait times and a few cancellations every now and then, not much you can do about it. Our NI pays for other people's treatments as well, even those who do not work and this is one reason I despise a "free" health service.
What was their reason for cancelling out of curiosity? I'm guessing it's not an urgent operation (elective?)

I'm fine with paying NI for myself and others whether they can afford it or bot but when the hospitals stop doing their jobs then what's the point in paying in the first place.

Ah fair enough. https://www.bbc.com/news/health-66217770

Seems like the walk out on 24/08 and 25/08 are planned by the union.

Super unfortunate that your operation was scheduled on that day - I'm sorry to hear.

Paid for through taxes so no, not “entitlement” or “free”

First they canceled on 23rd Dec last year, then again in March and April and then tomorrow gone now too.

Honestly people who work in essential services such as police, firefighters, medical professionals shouldn't be allowed to strike.

Are you thick? Wdym not allowed to strike. It’s not the consultants faults that your operation isn’t going ahead. They’re not cancelling you operation so they can go for a lunch. There is a wider picture here and the fault is the governments. People take consultants and other medical professionals for granted, these individuals have studied for 10+ years to get where they are and are still not respected and paid enough. And the constant excuse is we pay your taxes

It literally is there fault. If there is no strike then my op goes ahead as planned. An no it's not for lunch, it's for money. Great for them, meanwhile I continue to struggle.

Of course it’s for money, they deserve it. I’m currently applying to med school and I know the struggle and hard work that needs to be put in to get into med school. Doing a levels and getting great grades, doing admission test to get into medical school, passing med school and specialising. You don’t seem to understand this but only care about yourself. What about the train drivers? And all the other people striking. There’s train drivers that are earning 60k! For driving bloody trains, and junior doctors are only earning around 25k a year. Please educate yourself

Yes forgive me for the people who earn more than I do, who are putting aside my operation for want of more money, while I and probably many more, continue to struggle.

And do they deserve it? They havent done anything yet? Do my operation then we can talk about what the deserve.

What because I want to put my medical health over their financial health?
