Hey! I have my interview with reading for primary education with english specialism on the 20th, anyone whos had the interview, what was the writing task like? What type of topic did they ask you to write about?

Congratulations on your interview!

I hope it goes really well for you, remember the interviewers want you to succeed and they understand it is a nerve-wracking experience.

I am afraid I can't help with the interview tasks but do remember they may not give the same tasks in every interview.

If you have any questions about the Univeristy please do ask!

I have also applied to Reading and Oxford Brookes for primary education, and have received an interview invite from Oxford Brookes. I still have not heard back from Reading but I am hoping they contact me as that is my first choice.

Fingers crossed you hear back soon. Great to hear Reading is your first choice! Can I ask what it was that stuck out for you? For me I loved the green campus and the fact it is a campus-based university so everything is in one place!

If you have any questions about Reading please ask away!

Good luck,

Ellen

I've applied for Primary Education MMU. I live in Manchester and don't want to move away from home, so I only want to go to MMU. I sent my application off on the 5th so haven't heard anything back yet. I'm just SO nervous because I want it sooooo badly! I'm concerned that I have 106 UCAS points though when it says I need 112, so waiting to hear back is a bit nail-biting. I am a qualified swimming teacher though and have been since I was 17, so I'm hoping that this will help with my application. Anyone heard from MMU? Good luck everyone

Hi @Evedyer :hi:

We're happy to hear your interest in Manchester Met! We understand how nerve-wracking it can be waiting for a decision :s-smilie: Due to COVID-19, we are currently working remotely from home which may cause longer response times. I can assure you all we are doing everything we can to respond to applicants as quickly as possible, we thank you for your patience.

We are looking for someone with a good awareness of what teaching is. You should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of teaching and learning by drawing on related examples, such as teaching swimming. Our Admissions Team will consider your application on an individual basis and assess the whole application, including qualifications, personal statement and reference, in order to decide upon your suitability for the course. If they deem you unsuitable for the course, they will offer you a relevant alternative where possible, subject to you meeting the entry requirements.

In the meantime, if you haven't already, I would encourage you to attend our Undergraduate Virtual Open Day this month. It is a great opportunity to find out more about the course, facilities and student accommodation. Please try not to worry too much, wishing you the best of luck! :crossedf:

Offers? Do you mean interviews?
I commented on here a while ago but now I’ve got interviews for 4/5 of my choices , already did my brighton interview and I feel like it went well! still waiting on reading, so nervous because that is one of my favourites, although it’s only been about 2.5 weeks since I sent my application and they said they’ll reply in 4 weeks so fingers crossed! how quickly did anyone else get their reading interview invites?

I heard back from Leeds Beckett quite quick. Which course there did you apply for? Was it the accelerated degree or the 3 year with QTS?x

Offers both conditional I’ve had no interview (it’s for education and inclusion though so might be why?) I’m fully expecting interviews for the remaining three.

I’ve just applied to St Mary’s to study Primary Ed. with QTS. 🤞Super mature student (38) and hoping that won’t be too negative on my application 😬
