Is anyone here applying to primary education?
Hi, I’ve got a place to study mental health nursing starting in September. As a mature student with a family I like to be REALLY prepared. When will we find out start date etc? Thanks

Hi Alex, yes I applied for BA (Hons) Primary Education (5-11) with QTS.
I have been put on hold for the paramedic course after having my interview
does this mean i have been rejected ?
I got an offer saying 'pass current course' and that was it, so am I in then if I pass?

Already have a B.A in Accounting and Finance and doing a Pre University Physiotherapy at the moment.

Hello,

You should apply for Student Finance ASAP as it can take several weeks for them to process your application during the busy June-August period. The sooner you apply the more likely everything will be sorted before you start in September.

You can find out about postgraduate loans here: Funding for postgraduate study - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Thanks for the reply, I checked the link you pasted here & created an account with SFE on the government website. They don’t seem to have opened applications for postgraduate loans 2024/2025
Hi everyone, just wanted to share some info on postgraduate finance applications 2024/2025. I have just applied so hopefully mine is successful.

Hi there,

I have confirmed physiotherapy at SHU as my firm choice and should be attending in September.
Is anyone else here doing physio? If so, are you staying in accommodation or living at home? I unfortunately, will have to commute in my first year and am nervous this will make it difficult to fit in.

Hii I’m doing radiography so I’m assuming we’re gonna be on the same campus since it’s a healthcare course x I’m also commuting and know that a couple of my friends will be commuting too so don’t worry about not fitting in because of that xx

Hello there, I hope you’re well! It’s great to hear that you’ve confirmed your place for physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University. If you’re feeling nervous about commuting, you’re not alone. You can chat with current students who also commute and get their insights and advice.
Please message one of our current students, Abbie H studying MSc Nursing or Amaad studying MSc Cybersecurity. They can share their experiences and offer guidance on how to manage commuting and still make the most of your university life. Chat to students | Sheffield Hallam University (shu.ac.uk)

is anyone here doing aerospace engineering with a foundation year?

I already hold previous BSc degree and an MPharm, Pharmacy masters degree. Looking to apply to your 2yr MSc Radiotherapy and Oncology masters degree (pre-registration) starting in Jan 2025. Does this course qualify as an exempt course and one applies via the undergraduate route? If so ELQ rules don't apply and I could receive funding regardless of my previous study? The university page has fees of £11+k instead of usual £9250 and apply for a postgrad loan? Does having a masters already prevent me from getting tuition fee and maintenance loans or not? Very confused. I asked an SFE rep on here and he said he couldn't find the course on their courses management system, so he couldn't help me other than saying contact Sheffield and ask them to publish the course! I am interested but if I cannot get funding, obviously the answer would be a no alas. Hugely disappointing. Hope you can help resolve the issue Sheffield. Many thanks
