volunteering at BHF charity shop
Has anyone volunteered at a BHF charity shop? If so, what kind of character references did they ask for? It says you need two character referees but since I've never had a job before, I don't have an employer to give me a reference. There's a teacher I could ask for one but that's only one. Can you ask a family member?
It should be fine. You can use a family member if you wish. I think I used my next door neighbour and my teacher when I volunteered.
A character reference seems like a bit of a box ticking exercise by them. A teacher is great idea. Family members aren’t typically allowed for references but you could ask them for more detail on what is required. A good friend might be an option. I used a friend for joining a voluntary organisation, he also happened to be a police officer.
