also, we have a lead senior dedicated for Oxbridge applications (hes specialised and also helps the private partner schools) , and a couple of teachers are oxbridge students!

Tbh, I'm not trying to get my hopes up about going because of my grades. I had an extenuating circumstance and didn't realise I could be put in for special consideration 'till the deadline passes, so I may be 1 grade off the minimum requirements for English Language. Sucks too as my other grades meet and exceed the requirements:frown:.

LAE seems so resourceful, one of the many reasons I want to go haha, how far do you travel to get there? (if you don’t mind me asking)

im quite close so only around 20-25 minutes!

Not really sure, either want to do pharmacy or economics at LSE or UCL. What are you predicted for your gcses? I heard that Cambridge don’t put a strong emphasis on them so if your a levels a good then you shouldn’t be disadvantaged

3 9s, 4 7s (probably getting a 6 in English lit) and 2 6s for Spanish (though I think I can get an 8 because of my mocks) and English Language (might get a 5:frown:). Ugh, I wish I took exams more seriously after seeing everyone else on TSR.

Ahh so lucky, the travel is probably the most dreadful thing 😩😩

Those are still amazing grades! They’re probably going to get inflated this year so hopefully you get even higher. Dw, my english grades aren’t the best too, but I hope I at least get a 7 in one (to do economics). This year was horrible and very messy so you should be proud tbh, well done

About an hour, maybe even longer. Idk I’ve never actually been before so I’ll see how far it actually is when I go for the taster day

Thanks. I was planning on doing maths, further maths, physics and economics but I might change econ to geography since my grades might not meet the minimum (and I still enjoy geography). LAET is about 15-20 mins away which is why i'm really opting for it.
For A-Level Maths, does LAE do Core Pure, Pure, Statistics and Mechanics? I wasn't sure if they do Pure.

Me too, i’m 25 mins by bus. Seems like every other one of my options are at least double the time.

Thanks! Also I have another question sorry!

What time do you normally get to school for and what time do you leave?

Also what grades are like the average i.e. A*AA?

its no problem! so lessons start @9:40 but school opens @8:00 for anyone who wants to do individual study. i tend to leave half an hour before the time i want to arrive.

for average grades, we just finished sitting all our end of year exams yesterday, so idk about the average results yet

hope this helped!

oh no for maths its different (i dont take maths so), you also have 2 teachers as far as i know but when you do furthermaths, you complete both yr1 and yr2 maths in yr 1, or somthing along those lines (honestly cant give u a definite answer for maths - apologies - but you do only have 2 teachers per subject!)

Hi!
I am looking to join LAET in September and I was wondering what the first day is like? Do we get into lessons straight away or is it a day where we get to know everything and just settle down? And also, when are our lanyard pictures taken?
Thank you x

Yep! You can find the A-level prospectus on their website, https://www.laetottenham.org.uk/about, to see the list of a-levels you can take.

Bare in mind it is compulsory to take 4 A-levels in Year 12.

Hope this helps
