EPQ on gender in crime

Hi, I've just started going to my EPQ sessions in college and finally found a topic that I'm interested in and would really like to do a project on how gender and crime are related. However the main problem I have here is narrowing this topic down. Does anyone have any interesting ideas that would be possible to do a project on with enough research into the topic for me to find?

You could debate whether official statistics on gender differences in offending (or victimisation) are accurate or whether certain factors cause them to be distorted

No expert here but there is probably research on violent crimes and gender in particular.
Why more men than women commit violent crimes. This would be too broad an area. You would need to narrow it down but there is probably research on it.
