If you could speak any language on earth, which one would you pick?

So the question in this thread is...

As someone who likes languages and language learning, this is essentially an impossible question for me!

On my list would be Portuguese, Catalan, Cornish, Turkish and maybe Te Reo Māori.

In fact, I'm going to have a mull on my answer, and I'll update you later on in a new post, because the more posts, the better chance I have of winning the prize! :yep:

Maybe Akkadian too.

My list of contending languages would be Ancient Greek, Latin, Arabic, Hebrew and Japanese.
I clearly don't have a taste for languages with a rich history...
