The Student Room Group

Joining the BPS Student Membership

So I want get the BPS Student Membership and I've been going through the application but I've so confused because it asks what divisions, sections and faculties I want to join but as a student I thought it would just be a basic "general student" membership so I'm not sure what to do on the form. It's just there are areas I'm more interested in but I know you have to pay the fees before they review your application and I don't want to tick divisions/sections/faculties and pay more money to just get declined because I'm not actually eligible for them as I know it's a non-refundable fee? I've tried searching on their website but I can't find any guidance on it and I figured there will be people here who are members so could anyone advise if I am actually allowed to choose those areas? It is says they're like £10 each which seems like a student fee but I just wanted to check before I threw money down the drain!
Thanks in advance
They're all optional so it's up to you. Some may have requirements for joining too

Oh really? So I can join without selecting any?
That's the thing, it said some may have requirements and to check what the requirements are but it doesn't say anywhere on their website about what they are (at least not what I could find anyway)

Yes you can - you would just get the monthly The Psychologist magazine.

Click on one of the ones you are interested in here https://www.bps.org.uk/member-networks/divisions and https://www.bps.org.uk/member-networks/sections, and click on the 'join' button. It will tell you what you need (if anything) and the cost. You will need to be a member (registering to be one or current one) to join any of them though
