Crashing Higher Chemistry

Hey everyone, I am crashing higher chemistry next year and I would like to know the best resources to study National5 Chemistry for the summer and prepare myself for Higher, thank you so much!

heya, I did Nat 5 chemistry and am now doing higher. the main topic that comes up most in higher that has already been covered at Nat 5 was carbon chemistry (hydrocarbons, systematic naming etc). apart from that I wouldn't over do it during your summer with revision as there isn't much else that overlaps. for resources to familiarise yourself...
- Miss Adams chemistry is really good on YouTube and I think she has a website with questions etc
- BBC bitesize is always helpful but it is quite simplified
- Scholar is also good but I think you need a login from your school
- Past paper questions (use the hyperlinked one then you can chose questions that will prepare you for the stuff you study at higher
- As always the course specification is your best friend when revising!!

This means a lot thank you, if I revise the whole summer is it possible to get an A? Because I really need it for my course!! And good luck on your exams!! Im planning on doing Advanced Higher Chemistry too.

I wouldn't overdo it during the summer because all you are doing is catch up work that is effectively background knowledge and isn't *essential* for higher. remember that you will start the higher course in august/September and won't sit the actual exam until April/may. you have loads of time to focus on getting an A!! a couple of people in my higher class crashed higher chem and they are managing absolutely fine. use your summer to do a bit of nat 5 revision (you don't need to learn the whole course - use the course spec to focus on the bits that new in higher) and relax over your summer!!!

Hi there! I’m in a similar position (kinda) as I’ll maybe choose Nat 5 / higher chem for s5. I’m wondering if you did it, and was it hard? I’m so confused on my course choice and it’s in a day ☹️ my options are, chem, psychology or media alongside H geography, H Spanish, H biology and H English. I want to work within the journalism sector specialising in wildlife (possiblilty as I really don’t know). So I’m considering studying zoology but I might need chemistry for that, and I’m unsure. It seems really hard, and I’ve got no prior experience with it. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
