A-Levels at 16 😳

I am not a British person. I moved to Britain recently . In my old school in the country I came from. They did all their A-levels and high school stuff at 16 and be in Uni by 17. So my dad keeps asking me about the topics we're currently learning. He keeps saying stuff Ive never heard before which when I researched were part of the A level scheme. Do I just tell him that we don't do that till A-levels because we don't learn that in GCSE and uni is at 18+

Also its not like Ive learnt everything in the GCSE scheme before. There are things Ive never heard of that we do until GCSEs . And he keeps comparing to people back there and about how they are going into unis already
