A level biology- mod 6 questioj

hi, if a disease is sex linked and mostly males inherit it, why does that mean its X - linked?
Im confused as i would've thought it would be Y - linked since only males have a Y chromosome?
Pls cld someone explain, i have a feeling the answer is really simple and im overthinking.
The Y chromosome is shorter, so there are often genes that only exist on the X. As males only inherit one X, they only need 1 copy of a recessive disease for it to be displayed. Whereas women need to inherit 2 recessive alleles for it to be displayed. So it is double as likely a male will present with the disease
