Just a heads up for people considering commuting PSA.

For those of you who want to commute to save money please please please actually look at the price of halls. If I was in 3 days a week (at my old uni solent) it would cost me ~£142.80 (based on 3 days in uni which is fairly normal for a first year). Halls however cost between £113.40 - 139.65 a week (except for Kimber which costs more)so if I decided to go to Chantry ( the cheapest) I would have saved £30 a week over a 30 week university year thats £900 a year. I stayed in Deanery IRL which is £139.65 so that’s £3.15 a week but again over a 30 week university year I saved £94.50 a year.

If your in more days of course it would cost more and Kimber likely would have been a n option my point is that it’s not always cheaper to commute so please consider that and actually work it out before you decide. There are many reasons not to commute but this is the one most people think about so I felt it deserved it’s own thread.
